Role:   Senior Manager FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis)

Location: Remote US-Based

Essential Functions:

  • Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial planning processes and strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. This includes creating annual budgets, long-term financial plans, and forecasting future financial performance based on industry trends and company projections.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. This involves analyzing financial data, identifying key trends, and providing insights into financial performance to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders, summarizing financial performance, forecasts, and variances from budgets.
  • Risk Management: Assess financial risks and opportunities, developing strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with other departments such as R&D, manufacturing, and sales to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making. Act as a strategic partner to department heads and executives.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of financial analysts or associates, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster their professional growth and ensure effective performance within the FP&A function.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve financial planning processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and relevance of financial information. Implement best practices and streamline reporting mechanisms.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Participate in strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and new product launches, providing financial analysis and due diligence support as needed.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting exercises, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational plans. Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate financial results, forecasts, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, supporting informed decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field required
  • Eight (8) years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis roles for both private and public companies.
  • Three (3) years of demonstrated experience working directly within the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry.
  • Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and analysis, with proficiency in financial software systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, with the ability to lead and develop cross-functional teams, delegate responsibilities, and drive performance excellence.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (including accruals, gross-to-net, capitalization vs expense).
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial management/reporting software.
  • Strong track record of driving financial performance and operational excellence.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, and experience implementing and maintaining internal controls to ensure financial reporting integrity.


The U.S. target annual salary range for this remote, full-time, position is currently set at $165,000-$180,000. The actual base salary offered for this role will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, market factors, experience and considering internal equity. In addition, to the base salary, CG Oncology offers a very attractive set of Total Rewards (including bonus and equity) and Well-Being Benefits provided as part of the overall compensation package for this role.
