Role:   Director, Pricing and Strategy

Location: Remote US-Based

Essential Functions:

Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Provides senior management and cross functional team members with relevant pricing and reimbursement information, support, and strategic recommendations and guidance ensuring pricing input assumptions are incorporated into the forecasting and strategic planning process.
  • Communicate value drivers supporting pricing and contracting strategies, and their impact to the business. Translate the strategy and value proposition into innovative contracting structures.
  • Guide Strategic Pricing & Contracting deal development based on customer segment offers and bids, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and profitability.
  • Design and develop price optimization models to evaluate the impact of pre-launch, post-launch, and product maturity contracting strategies, including impacts to internal average sales price, gross to net, and reimbursement considerations. Make recommendations for contracting strategy adjustments, as necessary.
  • Partner with the Payer Account team to assess customer opportunities and structure contractual agreements that are mutually beneficial, advising on negotiations for profitable business
  • Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and reimbursement landscapes to inform strategic decision making.
  • Work Cross functionally to lead the development of pricing, reimbursement, and access strategies to enhance patient access and maximize product value.
  • Engage with all key stakeholders to effectively monitor and inform on current/future state of business and competitive actions/offers impacted by competition and market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and industry regulations regarding pricing, operations, and managed services.
  • Collaborates with cross functional partners (HEOR, medical, legal) to identify, assess, and implement innovative pricing strategies.
  • Develop and lead strategic pricing and core contracting analytics, including Payer/PBM, Oncology GPO’s, and IDN’s financial modeling, assessing implications of contracting scenarios on ROI, gross to net (GTN), and government pricing programs.
  • Collaborate with Market Access and marketing colleagues to ensure overall contracting strategies are in alignment with brand strategies.
  • Lead the development efforts to create and manage all pricing documents, dashboards to report on key performance metrics, status, and timelines for actions against contracts.
  • Work closely with Finance, to build the pricing and contracting framework and governance.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Commercial Analytics to ensure appropriate forecasting, discounts, and allowances to accurately report gross to net, including government price calculations.
  • Develop health technology assessment models, including budget impact and cost effectiveness models and drive health economic and observational research to support key assumptions.
  • Develop business cases to support the contract review and approval processes including partnership with legal, brand marketing, market access and finance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, degree in economics, business/health administration, marketing, or related field.
  • MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
  • 10+ years of biopharmaceutical progressive experience as a pricing and contracts leader in the pharma/biotech industry.
  • At least 7+ years of experience with developing pricing, contracting and access strategies.
  • Broad and deep working knowledge of US healthcare system, reimbursement, and pricing environment; customer channels and segments.
  • Understanding of the Oncology landscape and the key stakeholders including payers, GPO (community practice / hospital), PBM’s, and specialty pharmacy.
  • Understanding of Benefit Design & Economics associated with Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
  • Knowledge and experience in Medicare Part A-D, Medicaid, and private payer policies, reimbursement process, health policy, areas of coverage and payment.
  • Expertise in price and contract modeling, GTN projections and implications on Brand P&L.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to manage and measure results and KPIs using Gross to Net, Budget Impact and other financial applications.
  • History of leveraging strategic insights, data, market research, and customer insights to optimize price and contracting strategy to support access and revenue goals.
  • Strong communicator of complex information with the ability to influence others.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work across multiple functions, disciplines, and people.
  • Ability to translate, present and apply financial data as well as compiling comprehensive and functional reports.
  • Track record of successful new product launch experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated skills working cross functionally to gain alignment and improve business performance.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

The U.S. target annual salary range for this remote, full-time, position is currently set at $205,000-$225,000. The actual base salary offered for this role will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, market factors, experience and considering internal equity. In addition, to the base salary, CG Oncology offers a very attractive set of Total Rewards (including bonus and equity) and Well-Being Benefits provided as part of the overall compensation package for this role.
