Role:   Sr. Director, National & Strategic Accounts - Payers

Location: Remote US-Based

Essential Functions:

Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Provide tactical leadership responsible for direction and oversight of all Commercial and Government payer lines of business.
  • Recruit, lead, and motivate a seasoned National/Regional Market Access payer team to achieve/exceed market access objectives for prelaunch/launch and beyond.
  • Collaborate with commercial leadership and senior/executive management to develop and refine the company’s payer access strategy and provide input on product and service offerings, pricing, and contracting.
  • Inform the organization of trends and market insights, risks, opportunities for success etc.
  • Inform and influence key opinion leaders (KOLs), regarding improved outcomes and public policy matters.
  • Partner with Marketing, Channel Management, Patient Support Services and Medical to develop customer pull through strategies and initiatives that support formulary placement and coverage.
  • Provide strategy and direction in the development of key Market Access advisory leaders, advocacy groups, and others that can and will impact removing barriers to access
  • Leverage existing and/or established relationships at strategic payer accounts, including the C- suite level, to create and communicate the value proposition of launch products.
  • Develop customer specific strategies, roadmap, segmentation, and account plans for all targeted accounts.
  • Drive favorable access across all relevant payers and ensure medical coverage policies are consistent with the FDA approved prescribing information.
  • Build and maintain strong long-term client relationships/partnerships that drive key initiatives related to our growth and success.
  • Collaborate with field teams (Field Sales, FRM’s, Medical Affairs) to monitor the payor access environment to identify key trends, access barriers and partner with colleagues to mitigate.
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Patient Services and Distribution to develop support programs that will enhance our value proposition, removing barriers to access and assisting HCPs with understanding the National/Regional coverage environment and provide appropriate patients a path to product and mitigating any access barriers.
  • Partner with HEOR to construct economic models and data sets in support of payer value proposition messages.
  • Lead pricing and negotiations with payers to ensure optimal market access.
  • Oversee budget and vendor management to ensure timely and fiscally responsible project execution

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • Twelve (12) years of proven commercial experience within the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Eight (8) years of Market Access, Payer Account Management, Specialty Pharmacy experience
  • Experience in leading teams and history of successfully launching new products within the specialty, rare or oncology markets required.
  • Previous experience successfully developing and leading managed markets/payer initiatives that supported product launches.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the US payer market segments; Commercial/Medicare/Medicaid including managed care organizations, integrated health systems, PBMs and Specialty Pharmacy. Well versed in pharma/payer contracting terms across various segments.
  • Knowledge and experience in Medicare Part A-D, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies, reimbursement process, buy and bill, health policy, areas of coverage and payment.
  • Demonstrated success securing broad access and negotiation skills/financial acumen required to manage complex customer engagements (Pre-information exchange) and contractual agreements.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining direct relationships with key payers, IDNs and stakeholders, as well as establishing patient and HCP pull-through support programs.
  • Proven ability to define and articulate product value propositions.

The U.S. target annual salary range for this remote, full-time, position is currently set at $255,000-$275,000. The actual base salary offered for this role will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, market factors, experience and considering internal equity. In addition, to the base salary, CG Oncology offers a very attractive set of Total Rewards (including bonus and equity) and Well-Being Benefits provided as part of the overall compensation package for this role.
